Cookies for you, for me, for everybody!!!

Oatmeal raisin almond cookies and oatmeal cranberry almond cookies – don't they sound incredibly yummy? I have been wanting to try these cookie recipes from the Magnolia Cookbook for some months now, and i finally did so today!

I personally loved the results, and I previously never thought that the combination of ingredients could work out so well; the fragrance of the almond together with rolled oats has an amazing marriage of 'yumminess' that took me by surprise. Kudos to the Magnolia Cookbook; their recipes never fail to impress, and I love that they retain the traditional and 'home-made' feel in their cooking techniques.

Ah, reminds me of those 'old school' bakeries - absolutely divine!

This is the cupcake...la la la la...Elmo cupcake!

A very last minute decision to bake some cupcakes for my 2 year old neighbourlet, who was celebrating his birthday today! His folks were supposed to bake Elmo cupcakes (no points for guessing what the theme of the party was!), but somehow, the cupcakes exploded in the oven!

So I figured I'd give it a shot. I googled Elmo's face quickly because I didn't want my Elmo to end up looking like some cheap made-in-china knockoff. Drew up a plan in my head as to how his face would be done, and then got to work!

3 hours later...

Double Chocolate Chip Cookies

I haven't made these since Chinese New Year and I miss baking them, so when I had family making their merry way back to Melbourne, I had the perfect excuse to! Genius!

our first sale!!!!

woo hoo!!!! i love mad things! as y'all can tell, i DID go a little mad... hehe.... spend the whole day yesterday making 112 cupcakes for a friend's daughter's first year birthday. where did the 12 come from? well, her sis has seen the red velvet so often on facebook she HAD to take this chance to order some. hence the 12.

it was fun! i started at 10, but the first batch of ganache was too bitter, i am not going to try new things when i have to sell the next time. thank you chin for the phoon huat choc chips but i still i will stick to nestle or hersheys for my ganache. the first and second batch took me an hour to stir and perfect, off to the fridge it goes. i then set off to make the red velvet cake, the devil's food cake which is now called "the devil amongst us"

just at this point phillie came over to start on the fondant, alas! the woman at phoon huat sold me the wrong one. $6.60 wasted, i am bringing it back to her to make her make the fondant infront of my eyes. she totally wasted our time. we had to run out, halfway through the baking for 2 hours. truth is the going out was a good breather. so off to the bedok phoon hust we go just to find out they have closed down. so everyone, no more phoon huat at bedok. so we had to run to the simei branch, come home, squeeze in dinner and the baking continues.
after perfecting the frosting, hehe... i finally found out how to make them perky, meringue powder and loads of icing sugar, i have to say, after 50 cupcakes, my swirling became effortless and actually became fun! so with phillie making the Ds, some lilacs, blue that turned out green, yellow, ganache and 5 hours later, (mind you with the help of my mother with the individual packing) we were set and ready for collection!
respond? she just text and said the red velvet is so so so so good and that they cannot stop smiling while eating it. yay!!!! the feeling of satisfaction engulfs me.... so off to make somemore fore my nephew and niece. once again, YAY FOR FIRST SALE!!!

Think PINK!!!

aren't gay boys the greatest? hehe... so guess which party i was at last night?

Since phillie and i will be known for our creations soon, she did the balls (how apt right?) i did what i know best, CUPCAKES! one is a devils food cake and the other vanilla. i love how everyone waited till the last minute before engulfing it. think they were shy... or just watching their weight.... i always love the vanilla but i'd have to say the devil's food was yums but i think a little too rich. so drool away....

Balls Balls Balls!

Pink ones too!

Our dear friend is celebrating his 21st *ahem!* birthday again on Friday and the theme is, no big surprise, Pink! As a little gift to him, I decided to make him some pink rumballs! Ok ok so they could be pinker, but I really don't like the idea of white chocolate, so everyone will have to deal with the dark chocolate base!

Anyways his tagline is 'I for Love', so this is really quite appropriate doncha think??

My Pink Balls!

All packed and ready to party!
